Role: Guest Black Bough Reader (sub-editorial duties)

 

Job spec:

​

• Read through poems designated by editor as 'borderline' and advise editor (be a 'second pair of eyes').

• Suggest potential changes/ edits to poems that are sent by the editor, where applicable.

• Be able to respond to e-mails during an issue period period from the editor, usually within 24 hrs  and to be able to be responsive given the volume of submissions and deadline.

• Feedback to editor on design, structure and also proof-read.

• Promote Black Bough on different platforms,  but mainly Twitter, and be an excellent representative.

• Have the flexibility to take on any extra tasks.

• To be very committed for the duration period of the Issue.

• To be an excellent representative of Black Bough​.

• To adhere to confidentiality on submissions and to be highly discrete.

• Excellent conduct , including on social media.

• To be highly constructive, creative, a great team worker, a proficient e-mailer.

Role is flexible and likely to take up to 4 - 6 hrs a week of work during and after the submission period.
