Submissions - what we are looking for in a poem!

Submissions - what we are looking for in a poem!

It is often difficult for writers to know what magazines and different publications want. The most successful and lauded writers have all experienced the pain of submissions rejection.

For this digital, online project, we are looking for:

- Vivid, imagistic poems (google imagism)

- Poems less than ten lines.

- Poems that are imagery-focused rather than personal, lyric expressions.

- Compressed poetry without unnecessary words and expressions.

See our Summer 2019 issue for examples. It would also be useful to see the 'Panning for Poem's Broadsides (Poetry Northern Ireland) for an example of micro-poems.

Good luck!
